Terms and Conditions

Memryo QR Photos — last updated 21 October 2026

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms and conditions (Terms) apply to your use of the Memryo QR Photos website at getmemryo.com and the related event photo-sharing service (together, the Service). The Service is operated by Memryo, a sole trader (Memryo, we, us or our).

1.2 You can contact us at hello@getmemryo.com or through the Contact page on our website.

1.3 By creating an event, purchasing the Service, uploading content or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1.4 Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal data.

2. Definitions

Host: a person who creates an event gallery and pays for it.

Guest: a person who accesses an event gallery, usually by scanning the event QR code, to upload or view content.

Event: a wedding, celebration or other occasion for which a Host has created a gallery.

Gallery: the online space created for an Event where content is collected and displayed.

Content: any photos, videos, audio recordings, written messages, comments, tags, likes or other material uploaded to or created within a Gallery.

Event Date: the date of the Event as entered by the Host when setting up the Gallery.

3. The Service

3.1 Memryo allows a Host to create a Gallery, generate a unique QR code and printable signs, and invite Guests to upload Content from their own devices. Guests do not need to download an app or create an account to upload Content.

3.2 The Service currently includes, for each Event: unlimited Guests and uploads; a unique QR code and printable signs; privacy controls for each photo; a guestbook for text, audio and video messages; a live slideshow; Host moderation tools; bulk download; AI-assisted content screening; and multiple albums for different stages of the Event.

3.3 We may improve, change or update the Service from time to time. We will not make changes that materially reduce what you have paid for during the life of your Event without telling you.

4. Hosts: creating an Event and paying

4.1 To create an Event you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4.2 Price. The price is a one-time fee per Event, currently £30 (or $40 USD or €35 EUR, as chosen at checkout). There are no subscriptions and no per-Guest fees. Prices include VAT. We may change our prices at any time, but a change will not affect an Event you have already paid for.

4.3 Payment. Payment is taken at checkout through our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Your contract with us is formed when we confirm your order and your Gallery is created.

4.4 Refunds and cancellation. If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. Because the Service is made available to you immediately after purchase, if you ask us to start the Service within that period and then cancel, we may deduct a fair amount for the Service already provided. If you have not used the Gallery at all, we will refund you in full. To cancel, contact us at hello@getmemryo.com. Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of us agreeing to the refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

4.5 Event changes. If your Event is postponed or rescheduled, you may update the Event Date in your account, or contact us and we will adjust it for you, so that the periods in section 7 run from the new date.

5. Guests: using a Gallery

5.1 Guests access a Gallery by scanning the QR code or using the link provided by the Host. By uploading Content, a Guest agrees to these Terms.

5.2 If you are under 18, please get permission from a parent or guardian before uploading. Guests under 13 should not upload Content without a parent or guardian.

5.3 When a Guest uploads a photo, they can choose whether it is shared with everyone who can access the Gallery or kept private so that only the Host can see it. Please be aware that a photo marked private is still visible to the Host, and Memryo staff may access it where necessary for moderation, support or legal reasons.

5.4 Guests can add comments, tags and likes, and leave written, audio or video guestbook messages, where these features are available.

6. Your Content and our licence to use it

6.1 You keep ownership. You (or the person who took or created the Content) own the Content. We do not claim ownership of it.

6.2 Licence to us. By uploading Content, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, display and transmit that Content, and to create technical copies (such as thumbnails and compressed versions), only so far as needed to run, secure and improve the Service for you and the Host. This includes displaying Content in the Gallery and slideshow, enabling downloads, and screening Content for moderation. The licence continues until the Content is deleted under section 7, except where we must keep a copy for legal reasons or in routine backups for a short period.

6.3 Our use of Content. We will not use your Content in our own marketing or sell it to third parties.

6.4 Your promises about Content. When you upload Content you confirm that:

  • you took it, or you have the right to upload it and to grant the licence in 6.2;
  • it does not infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights; and
  • it complies with the rules in section 8.

6.5 Hosts and the people in the photos. Hosts are responsible for letting their Guests know that photos and recordings will be collected and shared through the Gallery, and for deciding who they share the Gallery link with. Hosts should take particular care with photos of children and should respect any Guest who asks for a photo of them to be removed.

6.6 Sharing downloaded Content. Once a Host or Guest downloads Content, it is outside our control. Please respect the privacy and rights of the people shown when you share it, particularly on social media or with third parties such as vendors.

7. Upload period, storage and deletion

7.1 Upload window. Hosts and Guests can upload images and videos, and add to the guestbook, for 30 days after the Event Date. After that, the Gallery becomes view-and-download only and new uploads are not accepted.

7.2 Storage and download. Uploaded Content is stored and available to download for 12 months after the Event Date.

7.3 Deletion. After the 12-month period ends, we may permanently delete the Gallery and all of its Content without further notice. It is your responsibility to download anything you want to keep before then. We will try to send the Host a reminder by email before deletion, but we are not obliged to and are not responsible if a reminder is not received.

7.4 Earlier deletion. Hosts can remove Content from their Gallery at any time. Guests can ask the Host (or us) to remove Content they have uploaded or appear in. We may remove Content or close a Gallery earlier in accordance with section 8 or section 11.

7.5 Backups. Although we take reasonable steps to protect Content, we recommend that Hosts keep their own copy of anything important. We do not promise that the Service will act as a permanent archive.

8. Acceptable use

8.1 You must not upload, post or share Content, or use the Service, in a way that:

  • is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful or discriminatory;
  • is sexually explicit, pornographic or exploits or endangers children in any way;
  • shows graphic violence or promotes self-harm;
  • infringes any copyright, trademark, privacy or other right of any person;
  • contains viruses, malicious code or anything designed to disrupt the Service;
  • is spam, advertising or promotional material unrelated to the Event; or
  • impersonates anyone or is misleading or fraudulent.

8.2 You must not try to access Galleries you have not been given access to, interfere with the security or operation of the Service, scrape or copy the Service, or reverse engineer any part of it.

8.3 You must not use the QR code, Gallery or Service for commercial purposes without our written agreement.

9. Moderation

9.1 We use automated, AI-assisted tools to screen uploaded Content. Content that appears inappropriate may be flagged and held for the Host to review before it appears in the Gallery.

9.2 Automated screening is not perfect. It may sometimes flag acceptable Content or miss unacceptable Content. Hosts are responsible for reviewing flagged Content and for moderating their own Gallery, and we do not guarantee that all inappropriate Content will be detected.

9.3 We may remove or restrict any Content, and suspend or close any Gallery or account, if we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law, or if we are required to do so by a court or authority. We will report illegal Content, including child sexual abuse material, to the relevant authorities.

9.4 If you believe Content in a Gallery is unlawful or infringes your rights, please contact us at hello@getmemryo.com with the details, including the Event name, a description of the Content and why you believe it should be removed. We will review reports promptly.

10. Intellectual property in the Service

10.1 The Service, including the website, software, design, logos, text and the Memryo name, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Content, which remains yours, nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership in the Service to you.

10.2 We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may print the QR code and signs we provide for use at your Event.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 We may suspend or end your access to the Service, or close a Gallery, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use puts the Service or other people at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.

11.2 If we close a Gallery because of your breach, you will not be entitled to a refund. If we end the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will give you reasonable notice, allow you to download your Content, and refund any part of the fee relating to the period you cannot use the Service.

11.3 You may stop using the Service at any time. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund except as set out in section 4.4.

12. Availability and changes to the Service

12.1 We aim to keep the Service available and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to suspend it for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. Guests rely on mobile signal and internet access, so we cannot guarantee that every upload will succeed.

12.2 The Service depends on third-party providers, including hosting, payment and AI screening providers. We are not responsible for failures of those providers beyond our reasonable control.

13. Our responsibility to you

13.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that digital content and services must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and that services must be provided with reasonable care and skill.

13.2 We are not responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these Terms or our negligence. Loss is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of our breach or if you and we both knew it might happen when you bought the Service.

13.3 Subject to 13.1, our total liability to you in connection with the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant Event.

13.4 We are not responsible for Content uploaded by Hosts or Guests, or for how other people use or share it. We are not liable for loss of Content caused by a Host's or Guest's failure to download it within the periods in section 7, by deletion by the Host, or by events outside our reasonable control.

13.5 We are not responsible for any business losses, loss of profit or loss of opportunity. The Service is for personal use only.

13.6 Please be aware that Events are one-off occasions. If you upload or rely on the Service for something irreplaceable, we strongly recommend keeping your own back-up copies.

14. Personal data

14.1 We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14.2 For Content uploaded to a Gallery, the Host decides which Guests to invite and how the Gallery is used, and we process Content on the Host's behalf to provide the Service. For account, payment and website data, we are responsible for how that data is used. Our Privacy Policy gives full details.

14.3 Hosts who download Content and use it outside the Service, for example by sharing it with vendors, are responsible for handling any personal data in it lawfully.

15. Changes to these Terms

15.1 We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We will post the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last updated" date and, where the change is significant, tell Hosts by email.

15.2 Changes will not apply to an Event you have already paid for, unless the change is required by law or does not make your position worse. By using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. General

16.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.

16.2 Transfer. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else without our consent. We may transfer ours to another business, provided it does not reduce your rights.

16.3 Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.

16.4 No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we give it up.

16.5 Third parties. Only you and we have rights under these Terms. No one else may enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

16.6 Events outside our control. We are not in breach of these Terms, and are not liable for delay or failure to perform, where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or internet failures, third-party outages, or acts of government.

17. Complaints and disputes

17.1 If you have a complaint, please contact us at hello@getmemryo.com and we will do our best to resolve it quickly.

17.2 These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, and you also keep any mandatory consumer protections of your home country. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
